I recently went back through an old prayer journal to confirm a specific date. It was November 5, 2008. That was the first time I was able to articulate with clarity how I sensed God was leading Orchard Group with a new direction. Before that time, Orchard Group had been defined by a specific geographic region – New York and the Northeast. We had 60 years of history planting churches in that context.
 

As I was preparing to be Orchard Group's President, I believed God was leading us to shift from thinking geographically to thinking demographically. We started focusing on cities around the country and around the world – places of high population density + ethnic diversity + income disparity + spiritual difficulty.
 

Now, seventeen years later, the dream is reality. The prayer is being answered. The seed of a vision is bearing real fruit.
 

We’ve helped 10 new churches in New York since that time, along with churches in Baltimore + Philadelphia + Miami + Chicago + Denver + Salt Lake City + Seattle + Portland + San Francisco + Los Angeles + many more. And outside of the US, we’ve helped new churches in Dublin + Paris + Hamburg + Bucharest + Istanbul + Lagos + Cape Town + Bangalore + Sydney + Melbourne + Perth + more.
